Ieda Herman – A Truly Inspirational Lady
Living healthy and happy life is anyone’s dream. However, most of the people are fail to achieve both health and happiness just because of the failure to achieve their dreams. This is mostly popular among senior citizens because most of the seniors are not healthy when they reach over 50 of the age.
Ieda Herman who is 91 years old is an inspiration for anyone who loves to live a healthy and happy life. As a senior citizen, she spends an active lifestyle which can be the secret of her healthy life. However, few days ago she had to spend few days in hospital due to a minor stroke. But, she also managed to vote for the presidential election which she never missed from 1954. Ieda Herman was born in Iceland and she spent her first 20 years of life in Iceland till she became a proud citizen of America in 1954.
Her first book was published at her age of 88 and it was about her life and growing up in Iceland. (Trolls-Monster Worm-Hidden People: Fond Memories of Iceland)She also wrote another book in early this year and this book ‘The Silver Arrow’ is a Young Adult fiction adventure which anyone would love to read! Homestyle Icelandic Cooking for American Kitchens is a cookbook which she co-authored and it is popular among those who love Iceland cooking.
Early this year Ieda Herman received her certification to perform marriage ceremonies. With that certificate, she could also officiate her great grandson’s wedding which is truly a memorable moment of her life. When she reached her age of 91, she started practicing for exploring the Icelandic cave. Her life is truly inspirational and she is a good example of healthy and happy senior citizens who can be the role model for others.

“I’m living the life now that I’ve always wanted to live – to be healthy enough to be active. First part of my life was raising children, supporting my husband in the ministry and now it’s all about me. I’ve decided to be selfish about my body; this is the only one I’ll ever have so I better take care of it’
